June 30, 2020: Garland Ventures LTD Issues Recall for Five Cheese Stuffed Shells due to possible Listeria Exposure

Garland Ventures Ltd Stuffed Shells Recall News – Garland Ventures Ltd (Garland Ventures) of Garland, TX has issued a recall for 1,095 cases of its Five Cheese Stuffed Shells trays due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes (Listeria) contamination.

Garland Ventures Ltd Stuffed Shells Recall Information

On June 30, 2020, Garland Ventures issued a recall for its Five Cheese Stuffed Shells product due to a potential Listeria exposure.  The recalled Five Cheese Stuffed Shells product was distributed nationwide in select number of retail stores. The affected stuffed shells product comes in a 10.76oz. aluminum foil tray with clear lid, containing shells with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and parsley, and marked lot# F080SS/F090SS on the bottom of label. Consumers who have purchased the “Five Cheese Stuffed Shells” product are urged to return them to the place of purchase for full refund.

One June 28, 2020, Norpac issued a recall for its fresh shrimp poke, distributed in Hawaii between May 11 and June 25, 2020 due to possible Listeria exposure.  Norpac’s fresh shrimp poke was distributed in Hawaii on The Big Island, Maui, Oahu, and Kauai through retail stores, specifically Safeway stores. Norpac became aware of the potential Listeria contamination of its shrimp poke product through routine monitoring procedures. Consumers who have purchased Norpac’s Fresh Shrimp Poke are urged to return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.

June 13, 2020: Lakeside Refrigerated Services Issues Beef Product Recall due to Possible E.coli Contamination

The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Services announced today that Lakeside Refrigerated Services, in Swedesboro NJ issued a beef product recall for 42,922 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157: H7.

Product Information For Lakeside Beef Recall

All products affected by the lakeside beef recall were produced on June 1, 2020. All products potentially contaminated have the establishment number “EST. 46841”. These products have been shipped and distributed to retail locations across the nation. According to the USDA, the following products are subject to recall:

  • 1-lb. vacuum packages containing “MARKETSIDE BUTCHER ORGANIC GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF” and a use or freeze by date of 07/01/20 and lot code P-53298-82.
  • 1-lb. vacuum packages containing four ¼ lb. pieces of “MARKETSIDE BUTCHER ORGANIC GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF PATTIES” and a use or freeze by date of June 27, 2020, and lot code P-53934-28.
  • 3-lb. vacuum packages containing three 1 lb. pieces of “MARKETSIDE BUTCHER ORGANIC GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF 93% LEAN / 7% FAT” and a use or freeze by date of 07/01/20 and lot code P53929-70.
  • 1-lb. tray packages containing four ¼ lb. pieces of “THOMAS FARMS GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF PATTIES 85% LEAN / 15% FAT” and a use or freeze by date of 06/25/20 and lot code P53944-10.
  • 4-lb. tray packages containing 10 ¼ lb. pieces of “THOMAS FARMS GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF PATTIES 80% LEAN / 20% FAT” and a use or freeze by date of 06/25/20 and lot code P53937-45.
  • 1-lb. vacuum packages containing four ¼ lb. pieces of “THOMAS FARMS GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF PATTIES 85% LEAN / 15% FAT” and a use or freeze by date of 06/27/20 and lot code P53935-25.
  • 1-lb. vacuum packages containing “VALUE PACK FRESH GROUND BEEF 76% LEAN / 24% FAT” and a use or freeze by date of 07/01/20 and lot code P53930-18.

Peekaboo Ice Cream Recall News – Ramar Foods, of Pittsburg, CA has issued a recall for its 14 ounce containers of Peekaboo branded Mint Chocolate Chip with Hidden Spinach Ice Cream product due to a possible Listeria monocytogenes (Listeria) contamination.

Peekaboo Ice Cream Recall Information

On May 14, 2020, Ramar Foods recalled its Peekaboo branded Mint Chocolate Chip with Hidden Spinach Ice Cream (14 ounce containers) due to a potential Listeria exposure.

This Peekaboo ice cream product was available for purchase at Target stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.  The affected product comes in a 14 ounce container with UPC# 8685400001 and a “Best Before” date of 10/08/2021 printed on the bottom.

Ramar Foods found the presence of Listeria during routine internal testing.  They are working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate.

Consumers who purchased the affected Peekaboo ice cream should not consume the product and can be offered a refund.
