Almark Foods Egg Recall Announcement – Almark Foods is recalling its Hard-Boiled and Peeled Eggs in white plastic pails with white plastic lids, because the products may be contaminated with the foodborne pathogen, Listeria monocytogenes (Listeria).
About Listeria
Listeria is a type of bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, a Listeria infection (listeriosis) can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.
