On February 1, 2012, Michael Foods, Inc. recalled specific lots of cooked eggs because the product may be contaminated with the foorborne pathogen Listeria monocytogenes. Subsequently, there have been a series of recalls by companies that have received cooked eggs from Michael Foods. These companies include: Wegmans, Allison’s Gourmet Kitchens, Quick Café and Take Away Café, Delish, and Grand Strand.
Michael Foods is located in Wakefield, Nebraska, and recalled products have been sent to: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NJ, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, WA, WI, and WV. The recalled hard-cooked eggs are packaged in 10 and 25 pails with one of these six brand names: Columbia Valley Farms, GFS, Glenview Farms, Papetti’s, Silverbrook, or Wholesome Farms.
