Torres Hillsdale Cheese Recall News – FDA needs to check out what is going on at Torres Hillsdale Country Cheese, Reading, Michigan. The company has issued a recall for all lots of various types of soft Mexican-style cheeses because the products may be contaminated with the foodborne pathogen Listeria monocytogenes. This is the third recall this year for Torres Hillsdale due to Listeria contaminated cheeses – and don’t forget about the two expanded recalls!
While there is some comfort in knowing that FDA testing detected the presence of Listeria moncytogenes in the recalled cheeses, it sounds like it is time for Torres Hillsdale to get their manufacturing act together. How many times can a company place a contaminated product on the market before someone becomes ill? The American public does not need to know the answer to that question.
